Audio dropouts over HDMI can have a few different causes. Assuming that the HDMI cable that is being used is not faulty, audio dropouts may be due to the inability of a receiver or processor to properly decode a particular codec, or even a specific version or revision of a particular codec, such as Dolby TrueHD. Luckily, such issues are easily resolved by changing the HDMI Audio setting in the Setup Menu.
- 1. Go to the Setup Menu and selec Audio Format Setup.
- 2. Select HDMI Audio.
- 3. Set HDMI Audio to LPCM.
- 4. Test for audio droputs; the issue will more than likely be resolved.
