Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion) use Apple's own implementation of SMB/Samba, SMBX, which is not compatible with the BDP-10xEU series of players.

However, there is a free, 3rd-party application that can be installed to re-enable SMB/Samba support: SMBUp.

Installation and configuration is very straightforward, and it has been verified to work with Mac OS X 10.8.3.
